The first thing to understand about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is that it is a very difficult art form to master. In fact it is so difficult that many people have failed in their attempts at mastering it. A lot of people are just plain bad students and they try to do things they don’t know. I have seen a lot of people try to imitate what I’m doing and they fail miserably because they don’t understand the principles of it. Some people don’t even know what BJJ is at all. I think there are some people who just don’t get it but the majority of people have problems with it. It’s like you see the game of golf and you know how to hit the ball, but it’s not quite as easy to keep your balance when you’re playing tennis.

Learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one thing but winning competitions is another. There are many different tournaments out there and you must have the right strategy to win them. To be a good competitor you must also learn the art forms that are used in most tournaments today. You must be familiar with them and how to use them. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu requires a lot of training and you must have a very disciplined mindset to be a true competitor.
